AAP Community Cares Project

Friday, October 21
12:00PM – 4:00PM
Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco

Join us for our annual Community Cares Project and support San Francisco area children by volunteering your time before the National Conference.

This year, the AAP will be re-organizing, painting, decorating, landscaping, and participating in a host of other activities for the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco (www.kidsclub.org)—an organization providing at-risk children, ages 5–18, with a safe place to be inspired and realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

Conference attendees, families, and children (5 years of age and older) are welcome to participate in this fun and rewarding activity. Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for painting and light manual labor.

Transportation will depart from the Moscone North entrance at 12:00pm and return by 4:00pm. A boxed lunch will be provided. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of San Francisco’s children!

San Francisco Experience! at the Exploratorium

Saturday, October 22
7:00PM – 10:00PM
Pier 15, San Francisco

The San Francisco Experience! will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in a state of the art science museum, taste foods from the streets of San Francisco, and take in beautiful views of the bay.

This year, the San Francisco Experience! will take place at the Exploratorium at Pier 15 along the Embarcadero.

While in the museum, you can experience science in a unique, hands on style. You are encouraged to use your creativity and dive into the exhibits… feel your way through the tactile dome, watch a dissection, tinker with toys, and experiment with light and sound. This is an experience you will not want to miss!

Please Read the Following Important Information

Tickets and Badges Required!
Due to the limited capacity of the museum, you must purchase a ticket and also be registered as either an attendee or family/guest of the conference. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $5 for children (in addition to attendee or family registration). Please check with a representative at registration to see if tickets are still available. Make sure to bring that ticket and your badge to the museum where they will be collected.

Shuttle Bus Transportation
Complimentary transportation is available from all conference hotels and the convention center to/from the Exploratorium. All “walking” hotels will depart from Moscone North. Shuttle buses will depart beginning at 6:45pm and will continue until the event concludes at 10:00pm.

Food and Beverages
An array of locally themed culinary delights and non-alcoholic beverages are included with your ticket. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.
